Draft pending legal review. This document describes how the website actually operates today, based on an audit of the site’s code. It has not been reviewed by counsel and should be before launch. It is not a substitute for a policy prepared for the firm.
What We Collect
Information you give us. The case review form on this site collects only the following fields:
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Name | Identifies you to the firm |
| Phone number | So the firm can contact you |
| Email address | So the firm can contact you |
| Description of what happened | Free text you choose to provide |
| Consent confirmation | A required checkbox recording that you agree to be contacted |
| Page name | A hidden field recording which guide you submitted from |
Please do not submit confidential or sensitive information through this form. Until a signed agreement exists, communications through this website are not protected the way communications with your own lawyer are — see Disclaimer.
Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, which typically include IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. Form submissions are similarly timestamped and may include the submitting IP address.
How It Is Used
Information submitted through the case review form is transmitted to Shiner Law Group, P.A. and is used to respond to your inquiry and evaluate whether the firm can assist you. It is not sold, and it is not shared with other law firms or with lead-generation networks.
Third-Party Services
This website uses a small number of external services. Each receives some information as a technical consequence of loading the page:
| Service | What it does and what it receives |
|---|---|
| Netlify | Hosting and form processing. Serves every page and receives form submissions before they reach the firm. |
| Google Fonts | Serves the site's typefaces from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Loading a font requires your browser to contact Google, which receives your IP address. |
| UserWay | An accessibility widget loaded from cdn.userway.org, which provides display and navigation adjustments. It may store your accessibility preferences in your browser. |
| Google Analytics 4 | Measures how the site is used — which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and which links they follow. Loaded from googletagmanager.com. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google your IP address, which we have configured Google to anonymize. |
| YouTube | Some pages embed short videos published by the firm. They are loaded through youtube-nocookie.com, which means YouTube sets nothing in your browser unless you press play. If you do play a video, YouTube receives your IP address and may set cookies under Google’s policies. |
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure how the site is used. It tells us which pages people read, how they arrived, and which links they follow, in aggregate. We have enabled IP anonymization. We do not use it to build advertising audiences, and we run no advertising pixels, remarketing tags, or cross-site tracking code.
What we do not do with it. Analytics data is not connected to anything you submit through the case review form, and it is not used to identify you personally. Nothing about your inquiry is sent to Google.
You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit using Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
Cookies
Embedded videos are the other case worth knowing about. They are loaded in privacy mode, so nothing is set until you press play. Pressing play hands the request to YouTube, which then applies its own policies.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to tell one visit from another and to work out whether a visitor is returning. The other services in the table above may also set cookies or store preferences under their own policies. Beyond those, we set none ourselves.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings, and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on linked above disables analytics collection specifically. Blocking cookies does not stop you reading anything here or submitting the case review form.
Retention
Form submissions are retained by the hosting platform and by Shiner Law Group. Where the firm opens a matter, retention follows the firm’s own record-keeping obligations, which are governed by professional rules rather than by this website.
Your Choices
- Do not submit the form if you would rather not provide information — call instead.
- Ask for your information to be deleted by contacting the firm. Deletion may not be possible where the firm has a professional or legal obligation to retain records.
- Withdraw consent to contact at any time by telling the firm.
- Control cookies through your browser settings.
- Opt out of analytics with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information. Direct any such request to the firm using the details on the Contact page.
Children
This website is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date. Because the site is actively being built, the services listed above may change; this page is intended to describe what the site actually does at the date shown.
